SANDIA GOLF CLUB, CONSTRUCTED BY WADSWORTH GOLF, NAMED TOP DEVELOPMENT FOR 2005

Sandia Golf Club has been named the 2005 Development of the Year by Golf Inc. magazine.

The contest was conducted by the magazine to highlight the country's most innovative golf developments based on aesthetic and environmental qualities, course routing, clubhouse design and functionality, presentation and golf course conditioning.

The golf course is part of Sandia Resort and Casino, a business enterprise of the Pueblo of Sandia located immediately north and east of Albuquerque near the base of the Sandia Mountains. In its first four months of operation after its June 2005 opening, the Sandia golf course hosted 17,000 rounds of golf.

In December, the Pueblo plans to open a 228-room hotel with 35,000 square feet of convention and meeting space, restaurants, and a 12,000-square-foot spa.

The golf course at Sandia is managed by Scottsdale, Ariz.-based OB Sports Golf Management, which oversees 20 golf facilities in the U.S. and Mexico.

Golf Inc. Magazine, founded in 1991, is published monthly for an audience of golf course developers, owners, operators and management companies. The magazine is owned by San Diego-based Cypress Magazines.
